The History of JGB
Johnny Goes Bowling began in the fall of '99 with Erik's vision. He wanted to create a straight-up straight edge punk rock band. The original name was "Generation Straight Edge" and the line-up consisted of Erik-drums and vocals, Dan-guitar, Adam-bass, and Shawn-vocals.

The name "Johnny Goes Bowling" was taken by the band after arguments over how a cosmonaut could be Mexican. This was the line-up to pen such originals as Straight Edge Hippie and Stay Away From Me.

After a while "Generation Straight Edge" began to break down. Adam moved to guitar, Dan left, and new members Will and Chris joined in on guitar and bass, respectively. Shawn continued singing and Erik continued drumming.
|
Shawn then left the band due to musical differences (not enough hardcore). Erik, Will, Adam, and Chris then went on to release Johnny Goes Bowling's first LP entitled "Get Off My Head" on Hotter Than Your Mom Records.
We asked will to leave and we crumbled from there. Adam, Chris, and Erik formed the Soma and Erik and Will formed a soon to be named emo/poppunk band.
